SV 34B

The SV 34B Class 2 Acoustic Calibrator generates reference signal of 114 dB at 1 kHz and is designed to calibrate Class 2 sound level meters and noise dosimeters with1/2 microphones. Unlike many others, the robust housing of the calibrator gives comfort of a secure grip to its users.

Reference piezoresistive sensor for monitoring generated level, pressure and temperature sensors for measurements of atmospheric conditions and a microprocessor system controlling the operation of the calibrator. Sinusoidal waveform of 1 kHz frequency is digitally generated and feeds the loudspeaker. Sampled signal from the reference piezoresistive sensor indicates the level of currently generated signal in a feedback loop. On the basis of information about the level of the signal, actual values of pressure and temperature, microprocessor adjusts amplification of the loudspeaker signal in order to produce appropriate sound pressure level in the calibrator’s chamber.

Instrument allows parallel acceleration, velocity and displacement measurements. Three vibration profiles allow parallel measurements with independently defined filters and RMS detector time constants. Each profile provides a significant number of results (like RMS, Peak or Max).

The advanced time-history logging for each profile provides the complete information about the measured signal. Measurements data stored to microSD card can be easily downloaded to any PC using the USB interface and SvanPC++ software.

Most of required weighting filters, like VelMF, meeting ISO 10816 standard requirements, are available with this instrument. Using the computational power of its digital signal processor, the SVAN 974 instrument can perform additionally the real-time 1/1 or 1/3 octave or FFT analysis. The SVAN 974 offers also, parallel to the vibration measurement, the RPM measurement with Monarch laser tachometer.

Instrument is powered from four AA standard or rechargeable batteries. The powering of the instrument from the USB interface is also provided. The robust and very compact case together with a light-weight design complete the exceptional features of this modern instrument.

SV 102A+

SV 102A+ Class 1 Dual Channel Dosimeter is presenting new approach to occupational health and safety acoustic monitoring task. This dosimeter can be also used as a dual-channel Class1 sound level meter and real-time 1/1 octave & 1/3 octave analyser.
Octave analysis, providing direct data for the design of the ear-protectors, together with Audio Events Recording (AER) function show the new reference standard on acoustic dose measurement field. The binaural dose measurement and octave analysis are simultaneously performed by this compact-size instrument. Three acoustic profiles per channel allow parallel measurements with independently defined filters and RMS detector time constants. Advanced time-history logging in each profile, together with spectra saving and Audio Events Recording provide a complete information about the measured signal. Data is stored in large 8 GB memory and can be easily downloaded to any PC using USB interface and Supervisor software.
The small and compact SV 15 preamplifier together with special mounting clip and dedicated headband enables an easy attachment of the microphone in extremely short distance to human ears. Calibration by measurement can be easily performed by direct usage of common acoustic calibrators.
SV 102A+ is also able to perform the measurement inside human ear – with the usage of SV 25S – smart microphone with an automatic calibration function (TEDS). The SV 102A together with SV 25S are designed for individual real-world test of the earmuffs noise reduction ratio by means of MIRE technique (Microphone-In-Real-Ear)-measurements under headphones or earmuffs. With a special adaptor, SV 25S can be also calibrated with available acoustic calibrators.

SV 106A

SV 106A Six-channel Human Vibration Meter and Analyser meets requirements of ISO 8041:2005 standard and it is an ideal choice for measurements according to ISO 2631-1,2&5, ISO 5349 and directive 2002/44/EC of European Parliament. This revolutionary, pocket-size instrument enables simultaneous measurements with two triaxial accelerometers (e.g. both-hands vibration or triaxial SEAT transmission measurements are possible).
The RMS, Peak, Peak-Peak, VDV, MTVV or dose results such as A(8) and AEQ with all required weighting filters for human vibration measurements, including band-limiting filters, are available with this instrument. Using computational power of its digital signal processor, the SV 106A can perform 1/1 or 1/3 octave real-time analysis simultaneously to the meter mode.Advanced time-history logging and time-domain signal recording (according to the ISO 2631-5) to the microSD flash card offer a great data input for detailed signal analysis. Results can be easily downloaded to PC using USB interface. The instrument works with Svantek’s specialist health and safety software package, “Supervisor”, and also with the full analysis package SVAN PC++.
The whole-body vibration measurement is easier thanks to SV 38V seat-accelerometer which can be placed directly on the seat cushion, floor or fixed to the back of the seat.  The SV 105B set with triaxial accelerometer enables hand-arm vibration measurements regardless of the type of evaluated tool.

SV 102+

SV 102+ Dual Channel Noise Dosimeter replaces our ground breaking SV 102. It has been designed for the accurate measurement of noise exposure to ISO 9612 and MIRE (microphone in real ear) measurements to ISO 11904-1.

This new instrument uses a class beating high resolution, full colour OLED screen making it even easier to read; even in full daylight. The small memory capability of its predecessor; the SV102, has been upgraded by adding a microSD card for an incredible amount of storage capability. The sampling rate has been increased from 24 kHz to 48 kHz which enables the measurement of sound in the full frequency band. Also new is an LED that indicates the status of the measurement and changes colour when the noise dose exceeds the limit set.

A unique feature of all SVANTEK dosimeters, including the SV102 +, is their ability to simultaneously analyse 1/1 octave and record audio events . The use of 1/1 octave analysis is the most accurate method for the correct selection of hearing protection to ISO 4869-2 while simultaneous audio recording allows the user to capture and eliminate false sounds affecting the result of exposure to noise.

Unlike classic single channel noise dosimeters, the two channel SV102 + gives the unique opportunity to assess the exposure on both sides of the head simultaneously. This is particularly important where a worker is exposed to noise coming from a dominant directional source where placing the microphone on only one side could understate the true level of noise exposure. Another use of dual channel technology is the simultaneous measurement of noise both outside and inside any hearing protection being used with the use of a SV25S MIRE microphone.

MIRE methodology requires 1/3 octave analysis, another feature uniquely available in the SV102 + . MIRE measurement involves measuring the sound in the ear and performing a one-third octave band analysis on it. Using the SV102 + in conjunction with a special microphone probe like the SV25S, placed at the entrance of the ear canal, makes this all possible . A typical application of MIRE measurement is noise exposure monitoring in telephone call centres where the sound comes from the headphones; an application not suited to classical dosimetry methods.

Calibration of the both the SV102 + and the MIRE microphone is done using a SV34 calibrator. The calibration factor is stored inside the instrument and in the TEDS memory of the SV102+ microphones. This cross checking solution helps to prevent incorrect calibration factors being used.

The SV102 + is a low power instrument and is powered using only two small AAA batteries. It is fully supported by our Supervisor software which is dedicated to Health and Safety applications.
